SHELLEY FKA DRAM REVEALS ALBUM RELEASE DATE SERVES AS LATE MOTHER’S MEMORIAL

 Grammy-nominated rapper Shelley FKA DRAM to release his first full length project in well over four years.


In an Instagram post shared by the “Broccoli” vocalist on Tuesday (April 6), He provided updated context on the previously announced date of his upcoming self-titled album, taking a moment to honor his late mother in the process.

“As some of you may know my mom passed away last year,” Shelley FKA DRAM began in the caption. “Before she passed I played her my upcoming album and I begged her to promise she wouldn’t play it for anyone else. She held her promise and took the music with her beyond this life. Her birthday is April 29th, so I’m pushing my album Shelley FKA DRAM’s release date to April 29th as not only my gift back to her, but my promise to play it for the world.”



Shelley first revealed his mother’s passing back in November last year. Shelley FKA DRAM notably collaborated with his mother, Big Baby Mom, on the #1HappyHoliday EP track “Silver Bells” in 2017 — following the release of his debut album Big Baby D.R.A.M. the year prior.




In addition to dropping his singles “Exposure” and “Cooking With Grease” Shelley FKA DRAM’s 2021 return has been highlighted by his new at-home cooking show Cooking With Grease.

Claudia Jordan Tweets “Rest in Paradise DMX” & Social Media Loses It

 We haven’t yet received a full update about DMX’s recovery, but Claudia Jordan has reportedly created a firestorm online.

Over the years Dark Man X has struggled with addiction and revealed only recently that it was his mentor who got him hooked. DMX shared that he was 14-years-old when he smoked a blunt laced with crack cocaine, unbeknownst to him, and it sent him down a path of addiction that he wasn’t prepared for. Fans continue to cheer for DMX during his hospital stay and he’s been applauded worldwide as prayers in dozens of languages have poured onto social media.

There have been differing reports making ways on the social media regarding DMX’s status, but his family and friends have honored the rapper by holding a vigil outside of the hospital. Tributes have covered social media platforms for days as everyone has banded together, hoping that DMX will soon return home. However, on Tuesday (April 6) evening, Fox Soul talk show host Claudia Jordan suggested that DMX has passed away.

A tweet that is no longer on her account began circulating. “Rest in Paradise DMX. [red heart emoji][crown emoji][praying hands emoji],” Jordan stated. Soon, panicked fans rushed online in disbelief, looking for confirmation from the rapper’s family. Because an announcement hasn’t arrived, fans aren’t giving up hope. They are, however, giving Jordan grief. Later, she responded, “I’m sorry.”

Meanwhile, TMZ reports that DMX is scheduled for more tests this week and he’s still on life support.

FUNK FLEX SLAMS DMX’S INDUSTRY FRIENDS FOR NOT INTERVENING SOONER

Funk Flex has some strong opinions on DMX’s current predicament. The Ruff Ryders legend has been in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at White Plains Hospital in New York since Friday (April 2) after suffering a reported drug overdose and subsequent heart attack.


DMX has been public about his struggles with substance abuse issues in the past and the Hot 97 radio personality believes someone likely knew X was suffering and should’ve stepped in sooner.

“The music business is a gorilla,” Funk Flex told Page Six. “It’s a bottomless pit of happiness or depression. I don’t wanna say people don’t help you, but I do want to say there are people who actually know [when a star is struggling, but don’t help] sometimes.

“You don’t always get the best help when money is being made. It’s rough for someone like a DMX who may be in a mental and emotional state of childhood trauma that has happened to him and then being thrown into the money and fame.”

During a candid interview last November, DMX confessed he was tricked into smoking crack at just 14 years old and realized a “monster was born” that day. That moment in his life served as the catalyst to his battle with addiction. X has been to drug rehab numerous times, as recently as October 2019, but the fight continues.

Funk Flex is apparently sick of fake friends who’ve seized the moment to share a photo of themselves with DMX on social media but haven’t actually reached out to the veteran rapper in years.

“People can find the picture… that they had with the person that’s going through a tragedy in 30 seconds, but you haven’t called that person in 10 years,” he added. “Let me see the picture of you when you went afterwards to his house because you was so concerned. I never see that picture where they go to the house.
