DDG’S ‘MOONWALKING IN CALABASAS’ GOES PLATINUM – AS BLUEFACE HAS A PLAQUE PSA

 

2021 HipHopDX Rising Star DDG‘s “Moonwalking In Calabasas” single is the rap gift that keeps on shamoning. 
 The Blueface-featured version just earned a platinum plaque — less than six months after going gold on Thursday (June 3). 
The great sound which was produced by DevIsLit and its accompanying video directed by LewisYouNasty, “Moonwalking In Cabalasas” was previously released as a single in July 2020 and eventually found a permanent home on DDG’s 2020 LP Die 4 Respect as the album anchor. 
 â€œOfficially Platinum DDG,” he wrote accompanied with a trophy emoji.
 

Meanwhile, if Blueface didn’t have the big head from his Rich The Kid-laced single “Daddy” selling a million units, he just may now. 

 On Tuesday (June 2), Akademiks captured the Los Angeles rap star billowing brags and smoke in the vicinity of his recent certification.
 â€œA lot of you rap niggas will never get one of these — School Yard,” 
Blueface made a witty remark on Instagram while puffing a massive blunt. “I hate to break it to you but the odds is slim.” 
“Like two percent or something,” he concluded with a chuckle.
 

DDG is one of 10 budding superstars named to HipHopDX’s 2021 Rising Stars.

SOULJA BOY BETS PRIZED LAMBORGHINI BOW WOW WILL GET WASHED IN VERZUZ

The highly anticipated Verzuz showdown between Soulja Boy and Bow Wow still doesn’t have a fixed date. 

However, while fans continue to wait, the two rappers have given people a healthy dose of content prior to the event. 
 On Thursday (June 3), Soulja Boy took to Instagram to issue his friend Bow Wow a bet for their Verzuz battle. In the video he posted, fans can see an old red Lamborghini that looks like it hasn’t been used in a while.
 â€œIf you win the Verzuz, I give you the pink slip to my Lambo,” Soulja Boy said in the video. “I bet $100,000 that you do not got your Lambo still.
 I still got my same Lambo, I bought my shit cash.”

He continued in the caption of his Instagram post, “lil pee wee @shadmoss.”

 

Bow Wow hasn’t responded yet but fans can believe he won’t be taking this shot from Soulja without sending one back. On May 24, Bow Wow took to Instagram to playfully target Soulja Boy ahead of their battle.

 In the post, Bow Wow reshared a story Soulja Boy put up of him kissing his new girlfriend, which also happens to be an old flame.

#versuz,” Bow Wow wrote in the caption.

BLUEFACE QUOTES ICE CUBE’S ‘FRIDAY’ NARRATING CHAD ‘OCHOCINCO’ JOHNSON’S BOXING KO

Even though Blueface feels like he wasted his money buying tickets to Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul’s exhibition fight in Miami this past weekend, he did gift his social media following with a priceless moment due to his hilarious commentary throughout the night.

The “Thotiana” rapper appeared to completely denounce his experience at the fight in a pair of videos posted by TheShaderoom on Monday (June 7), featuring a cameo from multi-platinum artist Akon.

 

“I’m mad as a muthafucka,” Blueface says in part in the clip. “These muthafuckas bums, I spent like $12,000 for this shit, never again.” 

 He also seemed to confide in Akon his frustrations with the outcome of the fight overall, probing the AKOIN cryptocurrency developer to unleash his unfiltered opinion on the entertainment-based bout.
 

“Akon,” Blueface began sternly. “Akon, was that the worst fight ever or what? Worst, terrible for everybody that paid money.”



Though Blueface saw the exhibition by Mayweather and Paul’s as a waste of his time and money, it seems the internet was all the more pleased with the matter bout between former NFL player Chad “OchoCinco” Johnson and bare-knuckles-brawler Brian Maxwell. 

 During the fourth and final round of their face-off, after a promising performance, OchoCinco got a taste of the canvas when Maxwell delivered a knock-down overhand counterblow that sent Chad tumbling.

As Blueface is still wishing for better fights, the California native has multiple literal silver linings to celebrate in lieu of his dissatisfaction, including the new platinum plaque he received for his contribution to DDG’s RIAA certification 

“Moonwalking In Calabasas (Remix)” hit single.

Blueface also dropped off his latest single 

“Outside (Better Days)” this past Friday.

SOULJA BOY SIZES UP BOW WOW’S NET WORTH FOLLOWING HAIRLINE ROAST

Soulja Boy and Bow Wow are continuing to roast each other ahead of their proposed Verzuz battle that doesn’t have a date yet, but is very much going down! Bow Wow took to Twitter on Sunday (June 6) to call out Soulja Boy for his hairline while sharing photos of him wearing braids.

“Where this man hairline go… GOT DAAAAYUMN!” he wrote. “Soulja got them braids women get when they getting a sow in.”

 

Soulja Boy then did a little research of his own and came across the Celebrity Net Worth website. According to the site, his net worth is $30 million while Bow Wow’s sits at $1.5 million, which gave Soulja all the ammunition he needed to respond.

Soulja Boy went a little further on Instagram Live to compare their wealth and suggest Bow Wow got his hairstyle from him. 

 â€œBow Wow, cut it out,” he began. 

“My hair look better than yours, my hair longer than yours, I got more money than you. What is you talking ’bout some hair, man? I put them braids in, you got that from me. I’m the first rapper with the bald cut fade with the braids. I rocked that in 2019 before I got locked up in Malibu. You got that hairstyle from me, I’m the one that had the braids with the cornrows. I’m the one worth $30 million Bow Wow, you broke. You worth $1.5 million dollars, I’m worth $30 million. You been in the game longer than me. You been in the game 20 years longer than me and I got more money than you.” 
 He continued, “Timbaland, what’s wrong with this man? This man sitting up here worth $1 million, I’m worth $30 million. He talking about haircuts, you worrying about the wrong thing. Go get $30 more million, Bow Wow. Go get some money. Stop worrying about what my hair look like, what your bank account look like? What your house look like? You stay in an apartment. I got a mansion. You stay in an apartment. I got Bentleys and Hellcats and basketball courts in the front yard, you ain’t even got a front yard.

Bow Wow then came back with receipts, sharing a 2016 article that calls out Soulja Boy for lying about spending $6 million on a penthouse when it was actually an Airbnb.

 â€œSoulja Boy stop!” he said. “You def dont have 30 million! You be lying so much … we shot a video here. The owner was in this house while we did it. You live paycheck to paycheck STOP!”

POLO G FREESTYLES OVER DMX’S ‘RUFF RYDERS ANTHEM’ AHEAD OF ‘HALL OF FAME’

Polo G is putting the final artistic touches on his anticipated Hall of Fame album, which is set to be out on Friday (June 11). Prior to the project’s arrival, the Chicago native stopped by Power 106’s L.A. Leakers show on Monday (June 7) to kick off his album release week with a fiery freestyle.

Polo G pays homage to the late DMX by rhyming over the Swizz Beatz-produced “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem.” He references N.W.A and spending time renting out a Calabasas mansion that once belonged to Eazy E in the ’90s.

“Same house as Eazy E, young n-gga with an attitude/Book and street smart, I was trappin’ at the school/Think he hard body, I’ma show him that he a fragile dude,” he raps with a black brace on his wrist. “It’s crazy to me because I don’t fuck with the police either.”

Coming off of earning his first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with “RAPSTAR,” Polo G hopes to notch his first No. 1 album but will have to compete with Migos’ comeback project Culture III.

Polo G won’t be on this project alone, as the “Pop Out” rapper has teamed up with  superstar rhymers for his album that includes guest appearances from Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, DaBaby, Young Thug, Roddy Ricch, Lil Durk, Rod Wave, The Kid LAROI and the late Pop Smoke.

POLO G PURCHASES $4.9M LOS ANGELES MANSION AS HE EYES ‘HALL OF FAME’ STATUS

Polo G will soon release his new album, and he’s also making major moves on the property ladder. According to TMZ, the Chicago rapper is the proud owner of a luxury mansion worth just under $5 million — located in the San Fernando Valley.

The $4.885 million worth home is described as a car collector’s dream estate, boasting a nearly one acre lot with 36 parking spaces that includes a 14-car garage. With seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms, the Mediterranean-style house covers 11,000 square feet with a rotunda entry and vintage staircase, fitted with a wine closet and bar, dining room and billiard room.

As for the outside, there’s a pool, spa, BBQ area and lighted tennis court surrounded by stone terraces and patios. At just 22 years old, it’s fair to say his rap career is paying off nicely.

 

In February, Polo G kept his word and bought his mom a house that he said was even bigger than his own at the time.

 â€œAs my son @polo.capalot embarked on his career, as a professional recording artist, he promised he’d Create a life for our family free of struggle and/or lack,” his mom wrote on Instagram.
 â€œI decided to relocate to ATL in September 2020. Today my son purchased my dream home! I showed him the home and he didn’t flinch. His response was ‘what you need?’”

She continued, “To say I’m appreciative is an understatement. Thank you son! Thank you for being a man of your word. Thank you for giving me things, that at times, I was unable to provide you or myself. I love you and I’m eternally grateful.”



Polo G’s third album Hall of Fame is set for release on Friday (June 11) with featured appearances from Lil Wayne, DaBaby, Young Thug, Roddy Ricch, Nicki Minaj, Pop Smoke, Lil Durk, G Herbo, Fivio Foreign, Rod Wave and others. The project will serve as the follow-up to 2020’s The Goat, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart with roughly 99,000 album-equivalent units sold in its first week.
