Kenyan hip-hop icons Asum Garvey and Dr. Reign recently launched their highly anticipated collaborative album, Awesum Reign: The Stance, at an electrifying reveal party at the Mageuzi Hub in Nairobi. The event attracted a crowd of music lovers, industry insiders, and notable figures from the Kenyan entertainment scene.

The album, a reflection of the artistsโ€™ distinct styles and shared social consciousness, addresses pressing societal issues such as corruption, political impunity, poor working conditions, and the challenges faced by ordinary Kenyans. Asum Garvey and Dr. Reign used their platform to highlight the importance of activism and good governance, with Awesum Reign: The Stance acting as a call for change in the country.

โ€œThis album is our contribution to the conversation about governance, equality, and social justice,โ€ said Dr. Reign during the albumโ€™s launch. โ€œThrough our music, we are challenging listeners to think critically about the world around them and take action.โ€

The event, organized in partnership with Martell Blue Swift, Mageuzi Hub, Baze Radio, and Cosmo Lounge, also featured live performances and a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process. The session was moderated by Calvin Wanguku, General Manager of Baze Radio, and streamed live, allowing fans across the country to join in on the celebration virtually.

The star-studded event saw appearances from various Kenyan artists and media personalities, including Boutross, Juliani, Fena Gitu, Groovy Jo, and Amina Abdi. Activist Boniface Mwangi also attended, adding his support for the albumโ€™s message on good governance.

In a significant development for Dr. Reign, he also revealed his new role as a brand influencer for the prestigious French cognac brand, Martell. โ€œMartell has always aligned with my lifestyle, and this partnership is a natural extension of who I am as an artist and public figure,โ€ he said.

Awesum Reign: The Stance is now available for streaming on major platforms, offering listeners a thought-provoking mix of powerful lyrics and compelling beats. The album promises to be one of the most impactful hip-hop releases of the year, drawing attention to both personal and political themes in the heart of Kenyan society.
