New name, who disā¦Ā After announcing a name change (from his professional name Problem, to his birth name JasonMartin) with his I Owe Myself album earlier this year, the multi-hyphenate, now known as JasonMartin, has reached great heights as an artist, producer, film director, business owner (Dubbs Coffee Shop in Hollywood), entrepreneur (his Coffee & Kush Brand) and as a fledging actor (he appeared in the White Men Can’t Jump Reboot).Ā
After releasing the A Compton Story film in October (which is available on Tubi), which he starred in, wrote and directed, JasonMartin is releasing the album(s) companion piece(s) to the film, which will be released in two separate installments.Ā

The Harvard Medical School trained emergency medicine doctor -whose mother ran from overseers in the Jim Crow south to keep from being raped on the way to school whose mother grew up in the projects in Michigan and had a trash collector bring home a broken piano she found on the side of the road for her daughter to learn to play the piano on-has spent most of her career caring for patients often in broken systems in areas where the social political and economic determinant of health demand a fight to continue for health equity and increased representation in medicine of young people from underrepresented and under resourced communities. Dr. Carpenter-Edmond taught and has taken care of many critically ill patients and has seen the dance between science and the arts in healing.
She is committed to partnering with her friends in the music world on addressing health disparities and accelerating the march toward health equity. These two, The Doctor and The DJ, understand the importance of finding that joy groove within- joy as resistance in a world that will try to steal joy… Their joyous musical collaboration is an all out bumping joy ride sure to uplift this holiday season and beyond.
