In a recent statement issued by the US Coast Guard, it was confirmed that a catastrophic implosion occurred to the Titan submersible, killing the five members on board.
Ater a search was carried out, officials found five different pieces of debris, including the Titan’s
nose cone and total pressure chamber. The first coast guard district
commander R Adm John Mauger said “the debris is consistent with a
catastrophic loss of the pressure chamber.”
