Lil Scrappy To Wrestle Baron Black At Battle Slam’s “The Takeover” Event

 Lil’ Scrappy born Darryl Raynard Richardson III will be the latest celebrity to step into the squared circle for a wrestling match. The rapper will take on Baron Black at “The Takeover” on July 28.

Lil Scrappy will touch down his hometown of Atlanta for the upcoming Battle Slam event. Previously, the Love & Hop Hip alum confronted Baron Black at Battle Slam’s “Fight For ATL” on June 12.

“When is this going to stop? When are we going to stop letting these celebrities come into this sport and do whatever the hell they want to do, however the hell they want to do it?” asked Baron Black in a promo video posted to social media.

Gunna May Face Longer Jail Time As Prosecutors Claim A Nurse Tried To Smuggle Drugs Into Jail For Him

Sergio Giavanni Kitchens, known professionally as Gunna received some unfavorable news this week. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Ural Glanville denied the Atlanta-based rapper bond in his RICO case.

Furthermore, several outlets report there could be another possible legal issue involving Gunna as local authorities claim a nurse attempted to smuggle a bag of marijuana and cocaine into the Fulton County jailhouse back on May 14.

Apparently, a deputy confronted the nurse which led to her dropping the narcotics contraband and absconding from the scene. The prosecution believes the woman’s intention was to pass the drugs on to Gunna.

However, Steve Sadow, Gunna’s attorney, pushed back on the accusations of drug smuggling on behalf of the Hip Hop artist. The lawyer told WSBTV, “None of the allegations made today, these so-called new allegations, are accurate.”

Gunna and twenty-seven other YSL Records affiliates face Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act indictments. Prosecutors also charged YSL founder Jeffery “Young Thug” Williams with a RICO violation.

“As the District Attorney of Fulton County my number one focus is targeting gangs, and there’s a reason for that, they are committing conservatively 75% to 80% of all of the violent crime that we are seeing within our community and so they have to be rooted out of our community,” stated Fulton County D.A. Fani Willis.

Meanwhile, Gunna and Young Thug have denied affiliation with gang-related racketeering conspiracy. Both men pled not guilty to their respective criminal charges. Thug’s defense attorney, Brian Steel, insisted he would “ethically, legally, and zealously” fight to prove his client’s innocence.

Back in June, Gunna posted a statement about his RICO arrest on his social media handles. The 29-year-old “Pushin P” hitmaker wrote, “For now, I don’t have my freedom. But I am innocent. I am being falsely accused and will never stop fighting to clear my name.”

Port Moody rapper wins spot in first ARC program

 A Port Moody musician is among the first participants to be featured in a new accelerator program.

Kimmortal is one of 15 artists/bands in ARC, a Music BC initiative funded in part by the provincial government.

Kimmortal has a background in art and theatre and their concept album, X marks the Swirl, involves spoken word, rap and field recordings of water that Kim created over five years.

The album was long-listed for a Polaris, recognized by CBC as one of the top albums of 2019 and nominated in the 2020 Hip Hop and Rap category of Breakout West Music Awards.

All through late July to September, ARC musicians will be involved in:

The Clinic

• A multi-day training intensive where participants will attend business-focused workshops on revenue streams, branding and building a business plan, followed by assignments for continued learning and progress check-ins with ARC mentors

The Retreat

• Another multi-day intensive comprised of one-on-one and group mentorship sessions with world-class industry leaders, with a focus on all the creative components that go into growing and sustaining an audience and brand, including writing, recording, vocal and live performance training

The Show

• An opportunity for participants to perform at September’s Rifflandia Festival, in front of a live audience of fans, local and international industry members

“The province recognizes that increasing skills training and cultivating talent is an important pathway to supporting local musicians,” said Melanie Mark (Hli Haykwhl Wii Xsgaak), B.C.’s Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport, in a news release.

“We responded to a call to action and know there is so much talent right here in our backyard, and we want to support B.C.’s artists to reach for the stars and build sustainable careers. I am excited to see them shine, and I wish the first program participants the brightest future.”

Lil Baby Reacts To White Rapper Who’s Going Viral For Sounding Just Like Him

No doubt, Lil Baby is a name to  be reckoned  with in the hip hop scene lately as he has got the limelight on him, and he’s
hit a point in his career where other rappers are even starting to
sound like him.

On Wednesday (July 6), Lil’ Man J an up-and-coming white rapper went viral on social media thanks to his new song “Cap Freestyle,”
which has garnered almost 500,000 plays on YouTube since its release
last week.

The track finds the South Carolina-bred teen sounding an awful lot
like Lil Baby while flexing his lyrical muscle. He even references the
comparison by rapping, “Tryna be black, I’m white as can be/I’m the
white Lil Baby, no one harder than me.”

Lil Baby caught wind of Lil Man J’s “Cap Freestyle” on OurGenerationMusic‘s
Instagram page and was left scratching his head like everyone else. The
4PF boss couldn’t tell if the kid was trolling or not. “Is this a joke
or he serious?,” he asked in the comments section.

Lil Man J seems to be serious about a rap career as he’s released
several other singles and has over 300,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
Judging by his Instagram page, he started rapping in 2020 and is
currently unsigned.
