Bill Kapri professionally known as Kodak Black was arrested in South Florida on charges of trafficking and possession of a controlled substance “Oxycodone” without a prescription, authorities said.

According to Broward County Sheriffโ€™s Office online booking records – Black, 25, of Miramar, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and trafficking oxycodone of weight less than 25 grams.

Kapri was stopped by the Florida Highway Patrol for illegal window tint and expired tags, according to the Sun-Sentinel, which cited a report by radio personality Andy Slater.



Citing a report sent to the newspaper by FHP Lt. Alex Camacho – the Miami Herald, said that Kapri was driving a purple Dodge Durango in Fort Lauderdale when he was pulled over at about 4:30 p.m. EDT. The report stated that officers thought the window tints โ€œappeared to be darker than the legal limit,โ€ and observed that the vehicleโ€™s registration tag was expired, according to the newspaper.

And when the car was eventually searched by troopers, 31 oxycodone pills and $74,960 in cash was found, WPLG-TV reported.

According to WPLG, Black was born Dieuson Octave in Pompano Beach and grew up in the cityโ€™s Golden Acres housing projects.

The rapperโ€™s arrest comes a week before his expected performance at Rolling Loud, a national hip-hop festival at Hard Rock Stadium, the Sun-Sentinel reported.
