The “Cocaine Dr. Seuss” is No. 1.ย Pusha T’sย fourth solo effortย It’s Almost Dryย took the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart, a seminal moment for the Virginia rapper who broke through in 1999 with his brotherMaliceย as the Clipse and released classic album such as 2002’sย Lord Willin’ย and 2006’sย Hell Hath No Furyย to finally reach the summit of the charts.

According toย Billboard, the album moved an estimated 55,000 total album-equivalent units since its release on April 22, slightly lower than the output of 2018’sย DAYTONA,ย which debuted with over 77,000 total album-equivalent units. The album is Pusha’s third Top 5 Billboard 200 debut, following 2013’sย My Name Is My Nameandย DAYTONA.ย 

With split production fromย Pharrell Williamsย andย Kanye West, the 12-track album features guest appearances from Ye,ย Kid Cudi,ย JAY-Z,ย Lil Uzi Vert,ย Don Toliver, Malice and Labrinth.

Pusha’s victory lap withย It’s Almost Dryhas not only found him front and center forย Hot 97’s upcoming Summer Jam concertย but addressing ghosts, namely whether he has an issue withย Eminem. During an interview withย The Morning Hustle, Pusha addressed the online rumor and chalked it up to social media chatter.

“I saw just recently on Twitter people saying myself and Eminem,” he explained. “I’m like, bro! It was a misinterpretation of something I don’t even remember. Something I said or whatever. But you know, people decode, and they have their own thing โ€” and I was like, ‘Nah, man!”

He added, “Em is somebody that I respect. He’s one of them people that I really like what he does because, after all of his success, I can still find Lyricist Lounge Eminem [Eminem appeared on Lyricist Lounge in 1998]. That’s a goal for me, personally.”
