Capitol Music SVP Global Creative Amber Grimes Is Leaving Company

Amber Grimes is abdicating her post as senior vp of global creative at Capitol Music Group, sources with knowledge of the situation disclosed to Billboard.
Grimes, who joined the label group in 2018, was responsible for formulating and executing CMG’s global streaming strategy, as well as overseeing all CMG’s creative departments.
There’s no word yet as to where Grimes may be headed. Prior to joining CMG, she was senior manager of urban independent at Spotify where she acted as the liaison between Spotify and the independent hip-hop community.
Grimes declined to comment. A CMG spokesperson told Billboard, “We don’t comment on any personnel matters.”

Grimes seen reading Karl Marx following split with world’s richest man Elon Musk

Grimes, who recently “semi-separated” from Elon Musk – whom at the moment is worth $200 billion making him the world’s richest man  — was spotted Friday in downtown Los Angeles flipping through Karl Marx’s decidedly anti-capitalistic “Communist Manifesto” in her first public appearance since the split.

In the photos, Grimes — wearing a spacey brown and black outfit worthy of a martian cotillion appears enthralled by the German sociologist — who pushed, among other things, for the abolition of inherited wealth and ‘bourgeois’ property.
Video shows the progressive pop star blithely flipping through the complicated tome, as if she was leafing through the latest issue of Reader’s Digest.
The pictures surfaced less than a week after the Tesla and SpaceX founder became the world’s richest man, a spot he often flip flops with Jeff Bezos.
Grimes could use the book to make conversation with her ex, who once  described himself as a “socialist.”
And Grimes is apparently no stranger to communism. She baffled her TikTok followers in June when she opined that  artificial intelligence is the “fastest path to communism.”
Grimes recently broke up with the Tesla co-founder and CEO after three years of being together, although Musk told Page Six the two remain on “great terms” and “frequently” keep in touch.
The pair began to date in May 2018 before the birth of their son X Æ A-Xii Musk.

Fans convinced Adele to release new album ‘imminently’ as billboards appear worldwide

Adele’s fans are convinced that the sudden appearance of billboards around the world and a surprise announcement by Taylor Swift  is the imminent herald for the release of her long-awaited fourth album.
There has been speculations growing since last year that 33-year-old Adele is ready to drop the follow up to her 2015 album, titled 25.
There had been rumours that the record would be unleashed last year and that plans were stalled due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
But now fans are convinced that the singer is finally about to release a new album – imaginatively titled ’30’ – in the coming days due to two key factors.
This weekend, social media posts have shown the sudden appearance of billboards emblazoned with the number 30 appearing around the world.
A building in Dubai had the number projected onto the side of it, while buildings in Ireland have been plastered with huge billboards featuring the number 30 written in yellow against a grey-green-blue backdrop.
Many fans have speculated that it is the title of Adele’s new album following the release of her debut, 19, back in 2008, second album 21 in 2011 and the album titled 25 in 2015.
Taking to Twitter on Friday, one fan explained in response to the new billboards writing: “ADELE IS COMING!!! OMG!!!”
And another concurred, writing: “I'M SHAKING ADELE IS COMING OMG #30.”
Meanwhile, the decision by Taylor Swift to rearrange the re-release of her own album, Red, has left fans speculating it is a strategically orchestrated move to leave the door open for Adele to enjoy easy chart success.
Taking to social media at the end of the week, 31-year-old Taylor announced she was pulling her planned release of Red from November 19 up to November 12.
Fans are now convinced this means Adele’s 30 album will be released on November 19 instead.
Taylor wrote via Instagram : “Got some news that I think you’re gonna like – my version of Red will be out a week earlier than scheduled (including the 4 disc vinyl) on November 12th!
“Can’t wait to celebrate the 13th with you and our new/old autumn heartbreak album.”
Taylor has been re-releasing her back catalogue with new versions of all her old songs after her rights were signed away from the original versions following a music deal.

AKG Announces ÂŁ99 Ara Two-Pattern USB Microphone

HARMAN Professional Solutions is releasing the AKG Ara two-pattern USB condenser microphone it has announced.
Ara lets content creators and musicians effortlessly capture studio-quality, 24-bit, 96kHz audio for superior speech clarity and stunning vocal and instrument tracks. Two pickup patterns focus on a single source, or everyone in the room: the directional Front (cardioid) pattern captures sound directly in front of the mic while rejecting sound from other sides, making it perfect for podcast hosts, bloggers, gamers, videoconferencing and for recording voice and instruments. The Front + Back (omni) pattern picks up sound evenly from all sides, making it ideal for recording interviews with multiple speakers.
“What’s really great about Ara is that it can accomplish so many goals for a variety of users. It’s perfect for elevating interviews and video blogs with its crystal-clear sonic quality and sleek looks,” says Chris Hansen, Director of Recording and Broadcast, HARMAN Professional Solutions. “But it’s also great for gamers who really get to step up their in-game vocal delivery with a mic that sounds phenomenal. And Ara’s selectable patterns and the ability to handle up to 120 dB max SPL give musicians plenty of headroom to record everyone in the band. The best part? Ara is plug-and-play simple, thanks to USB connectivity and class-compliant drivers.”
Ara’s essential functions, including pattern selection, mic mute and a headphone volume knob, are located on the front of the mic for easy access; a 3.5mm headphone jack allows latency-free monitoring. The mic’s compact footprint and versatile mounting options make it ideal for both desktop use and studio scenarios. Set Ara on a desktop using the included yoke and base stand or attach to a boom or standard mic stand; record on the go with a mobile device and optional adapter.
Included accessories include a 2m USB-C to USB-A cable, a 3/8-inch to 5/8-inch threaded mic stand adapter and a free registration card for Ableton Live 11 Lite recording software. Ara works seamlessly with all major live-streaming, video conferencing and music-recording applications.
The AKG Ara USB microphone will be available this month, priced at ÂŁ99 RRP inc VAT.
