Reason Why Dave Chappelle Didn’t Accept His 2020 Grammy Award

Despite attending the 2020 Grammy award, Dave Chappelle couldn’t accept his Best Comedy Album award at the 2020 Grammys  on Sunday night (January 26).

His simple reason in response to questions from Page Six and Vulture, as given by His  representative revealed he was merely running late due to traffic. He  wasn’t avoiding an acceptance speech or skipping the ceremony — he just couldn’t make it to the Staples Center in time.

I Wished I had a better answer, but it was nothing more than #LATraffic, stated Dave Chappelle.

Chappelle won the Grammy for Best Comedy Album for his Netflix standup special Sticks & Stones. This win marked his third consecutive victory in the category.

Since he wasn’t in the audience when the Best Comedy Album winner was announced, Presenters Brandi Carlile and Tanya Tucker accepted the award on his behalf. When he was noticed by some viewers later that night, they were puzzled by his absence.

His Shortcomings in Music: According to this great mind, His greatest short comings in music really comes from lack of funds and getting a bigger audience to hear his songs at least once.
“Its nice to have Hip Hop sites like you guys the promote independent rising artist but outside of that not many people will even look for new talent unless you have already blown up a little bit. But hopefully I can keep getting posted on quality hip hop pages like you guys and I can also blow up” He said.
His Greatest Moment of Success: “Honestly my greatest success was my first song. I had never rapped before I gave it my best shot and  6 months later broke 100k+ on spotify and that has been the fuel that makes me keep putting in the effort to create new music” He said.
Origin: I was born in Zimbabwe and at a young age moved to the USA specifically Kansas and I lived there for 7 years and thats where I became a fan of the Kansas Jayhawks,Royals, and Chiefs. My family and I moved to Arizona after, where I played football, basketball, and soccer and am now attending the University of Arizona State studying eletrical engineering and pursuing music.
Influence: the people that influence me were three Arizona rappers, King Tut, Mando and Lil Mosey. All these people had started doing musical stuff and started blowing up and they were all around my age and I was thinking if they can do it why can’t I so I took a shot in the dark with the song and people liked it.

Top Ten Rappers Of All Time

From being just an inner city music genre for the blacks and the Hispanics after its origination at a birthday party in Bronx in the ’70s, Rap has grown to be a music genre loved by all race and gender worldwide. This worldwide love doesn’t leave out criticism and controversy by critics, it is believed by some that it is a music that promotes crime, drugs, and violence but on the other hand – if you listen to great minds like Tupac Shakur, Nas and the rest you’ll get to see the richness of positivity it preaches.

First of all, what is Rap?
Rapping is a musical form of vocal delivery that incorporates “rhyme, rhythmic speech, and street vernacular”, which is performed or chanted in a variety of ways, usually over a backing beat or musical accompaniment. The components of rap include “content”, “flow”, and “delivery”.
Who is a Rapper?

His 1987 debut with Eric B, Paid in Full, was a quantum leap in terms of mic techniques, from its complex internal rhyme schemes to his soft-spoken delivery. Death at a young age can often elevate a rapper from modern-day star to bona fide legend. But Notorious B.I.G. already attained the latter status early on his career. His storytelling rhymes mined straight from his experiences in the Brooklyn streets materialized on 1994’s insta-classic Ready to Die, a wild mosaic of vividly visual rhymes delivered with the expertise of a linguistic master. By the time his group album with Junior M.A.F.I.A. dropped the following year, and his ambitious sophomore double-disc album Life After Death bowed just six days after his passing in March 1997, he’d already earned his title as the greatest rapper of all time. Unlike everyone else on this list, Biggie never dropped a single bad song, or a single errant bar – Billboard
