Kubota

EARLY LIFE:

Kubota (born: Riki Kubota) grew up in Los Angeles California. Surrounded in a congested music scene, Kubota sought out to find a sound that differed from those within his surroundings.

EARLY MUSIC CAREER:

With influences ranging from Atmosphere, Common Market, Year of the Ox, Blue Scholars, Ces Cru, to others, Kubota has generated a unique style of Hip-Hop/Pop to differentiate his musical sound.

Writing music since elementary school, Kubota has morphed and established his craft along the years. Starting his musical journey as a guitarist in his first band named Carlyle, Kubota and his friends wrote and played heavy metal music in various local venues across Los Angeles. From the Whiskey A Go Go and The Key Club to metal festivals and opening for acclaimed bands, Kubota realized the worth of pursuing a career within the music industry. Unfortunately, the band broke up in 2012, so he decided to switch genres and started to produce music on his own. Within a few years, he learned to mix and master his own music, developed his delivery as a rapper, and recorded his first EP and released it in 2016 on his own.

FEATURED ARTISTS:

He hasn’t worked with many artists that are well known, but to name a few, he has worked with Taylor Von, Iamyunghan, Foxela, and Arai. the Grape.

Music has always been a pillar in his life. He has been surrounded by the creative process and continuously pursued a career in it to the point where he don’t know what his direction in life would be if he didn’t pursue it. His aim is to provide entertainment that he likes and most especially to give the best of chill, calm hip hop music to his fans.

INSPIRATION:

What inspires him is what he relate to. Most of the topics that he rap about are everyday-things and small struggles that a lot of young Americans go through.

RECORD LABEL DEAL:

Signing to Pacific Records in 2019, Kubota has gained more and more traction with each single released. Landing on multiple “Chill Vibe” Hip Hop playlists and blogs, Kubota has proven to be a viable artist for listeners to enjoy.
