On this day, February 22, 1976 J-Live was born.

J-Live, born: Jean-Jacques Cadet (born February 22, 1976), better known by his stage name J-Live, is an American rapper, DJ and record producer.

He released the debut album, The Best Part, in 2001. Which featured production by DJ Premier, Pete Rock, and Prince Paul. In 2002, the second album, All of the Above, was released on Coup D’état. And has sold 30,000 copies.

J-Live released his third album, The Hear After, in 2005. In 2008, he released the fourth album, Then What Happened?, on BBE. In 2011, he released the album, S.P.T.A. (Said Person of That Ability).

Brooklyn’s Emerging Rap star Pop Smoke Killed At 20 | ThisIsHipHopHQ

The Hip Hop community has lost yet another great mind. Sadly as it is, Brooklyn’s emerging rap newcomer Pop Smoke has reportedly passed away, according to numerous reports.


The 20 years old rapper, Born Bashar Barakah Jackson, was shot and killed in the early hours of Wednesday (Feb. 19) in what appears to be a home invasion,  this was made known in a report by TMZ.  Pop Smoke, an emerging rap star was staying at a place in Hollywood Hills when two masked men reportedly broke into the residence and robbed him, law enforcement sources told the outlet.


The incidence which left him in a critical condition multiple shot wounds, was reportedly rushed to a Cedars Sinai hospital by emergency first responders where he was pronounced dead.


May the family find the fortitude to bear this loss.

American hip hop duo,  consisting of rappers Sonny Cheeba and Geechi Suede, both of Muslim upbringing. Formed in 1995, and hails from The Bronx, New York.

2016: Three years ago today, George Michael died of heart failure at age just 53 in bed at his riverside home in Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. He was found by his boyfriend, Australian hair stylist Fadi Fawaz.

2006: Along side artists like BeyoncĂ©, Eddie Murphy, and Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Hudson makes her acting debut in the movie Dreamgirls, a story based on the Supremes-inspired Broadway.  

1995: Eminem’ s daughter Hailie Jade is born. 

2006: T-bone dies of liver failure in Las Vegas.
