Derge (An acronym for Deep Earth Regeneration) is a performing artist and songwriter from Jos, Plateau state Nigeria. Born in the capital city of Plateau and raised in the northern parts of Jos. Derge’s style can be described as sublime fusion.

He had a keen interest in hip hop since he was a youngin’, great minds like Pac, Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Later G – Unit were major precursors to him loving hip hop, He really appreciates soul music, so you’d find it’s mark in his music.
This great mind also has a big heart for RnB, Pop, Psychedelic and Avant-garde and Alternative compilations. That’s the ocean of sounds he’s been drowning in all his life.


Derge’s early music career can be traced back to his early days in secondary school when he started writing poetry verses and hence, he has been influenced by literature since childhood.

His music is a reflection of his past and the voice of his present , and he is regarded as “we'”, a purveyor of ballads from the times. He is not restricted to rapping, He records depending on inspiration and how he feels best expresses the emotions in my message. Therefore, his voice is one for awakening.
