“Eon is more than just an album; it’s an experience designed to transport you to the edges of reality and beyond,” says Lenin Morales, the band’s vocalist. “We’ve poured our passion for music and our fascination with the universe into every note and lyric.”

Eon was founded in 2013 by Alexander Pulido and Ronald Lares with the intention of creating music that blends technical complexity with headbanging appeal. The band combines the brutal intensity of death metal with a deep fascination for the vastness of the cosmos. Drawing inspiration from bands like The Black Dahlia Murder, Death, Dark Tranquillity, and Beyond Creation, Eon creates a distinctive soundscape that explores themes from astronomy and geology to paleontology and existentialism.

Their music envelops listeners in an atmosphere of cosmic horror, blending brutality with reflection on the smallness of human beings in the face of the immense universe. Eon invites an introspective journey through crushing riffs, innovative rhythms, and gut-wrenching growls, all supported by their meaningful lyrics.

In 2022, Lenin Morales joined the project as a vocalist, completing the current lineup. By mid-2023, the band finished recording their first LP, *Eon*, with production work done by Sebastian Has. The production was finalized at the end of the same year, marking a significant milestone in the band’s evolution.

Valeriane du groupe Andante – Outr’envol

The album “NMG” was written in 2020 by the talented duo Jean-Robert Dray and ValĂ©rie Roy, known by her stage name, ValĂ©riane. The collaboration seamlessly blends their musical expertise, with Dray taking on the role of arranger, resulting in a captivating and multifaceted musical journey.

The album showcases an eclectic mix of musical styles, ranging from heartfelt ballads to energizing rock. This variety invites listeners to explore profound concepts such as peace and the human condition. Through evocative orchestral melodies and thought-provoking lyrics, the album encourages reflection on themes of freedom and the pursuit of a more just and harmonious world. Each track stands out on its own, yet they all come together to form a harmonious, cohesive narrative aimed at inspiring younger generations.

Jean-Robert’s musical journey began at the tender age of five, when he first discovered his passion for music. Initially self-taught, he honed his skills for many years before meeting Daniel Gouin in 1973, who provided him with a stronger foundation. In 1984, Jean-Robert won an award at a major competition held at Mogador. His passion for music grew, leading him to join SACEM in 1982 and compose music for a short film that won first prize in the ĂŽle-de-France region.

In 1998, Jean-Robert met Valérie, who would become the singer of their collaborative music project. Together, they formed the group Andante in 2000, embarking on a journey of artistic creativity and exploration.

ValĂ©rie’s artistic career began with acting training at 17, initially under the mentorship of Jean Darnel. She further honed her craft under the guidance of theater professor and director BĂ©atrice Brout for seven years. ValĂ©rie also studied improvisation with Philippe Lelièvre and collaborated with him for several years.

Her love for the performing arts led her to theater performances in plays such as “L’Enfant Prochain” and Jean-Claude Carrière’s “La ConfĂ©rence des Oiseaux.” ValĂ©rie met Jean-Robert at a poetry association, and her lifelong passion for music and song reignited, leading to their partnership.

In 2006, ValĂ©rie worked with renowned vocal coach Richard Cross to enhance her vocal technique. She later collaborated with GĂ©rard Goyet in 2007. From 2007 to 2008, the group performed multiple times at Gibus and at the Emergenza Festival. ValĂ©rie’s exceptional talent was recognized during a competition at the Caveau des Artistes, which led to RĂ©gine hosting the Andante group in her establishment.

In 2009, after performing at the Emergenza Festival at Gibus, Valérie met Patrick Jaoui and his label, Melissa Music, which facilitated the radio play of some of their tracks on Cigale FM and Fréquence Évasion. Valérie also gave interviews with Janis Bouvot and Philippe Lacroix.

In 2010, the group performed at Sentier des Halles in February and on Péniche Boer II in March. Since 2011, Jean-Robert and Valérie have worked independently, recording four albums and pursuing their shared passion for music.

In addition to her musical endeavors, ValĂ©riane authored a book published by Éditions Chronique Sociale, titled “Petite enfance et plein air,” which focuses on early childhood education and outdoor activities—a testament to her dedication to her second passion.

Once Upon the End – The Old Ones

Haunting Ballads of a Broken World: Once Upon the End

From the ashes of a dystopian future, Parisian melodic death metal band Once Upon the End emerges. Their music isn’t just brutal; it’s a tapestry woven from the threads of a world ravaged by climate disaster, unchecked greed, and humanity’s insatiable hunger for power.

These five musicians act as bards, traversing a shattered landscape and narrating tales of hope, tragedy, and warnings from a lost age. Each song begins with the haunting phrase “Once Upon the End,” a constant reminder of a once-great civilization crumbling around them.

Their forthcoming EP, Archive 200, is a potent blend of new creations and reimagined past favorites. It showcases the arrival of their newest member, vocalist Ezalyr. Her voice is a powerful force, a marriage of soaring melodies and raw, passionate rasp that perfectly cuts through the band’s heavy riffs.

The lead track, “We Are The Dead,” is an ode to the survivors of this desolate world. It opens with an eerie melody before erupting into a relentless storm of guitars. Soaring solos intertwine with a bass line that pulsates with unspoken emotion. Tentrom’s relentless drumming drives the song forward, complementing Ezalyr’s captivating vocals that grip the listener from start to finish.

But Archive 200 isn’t a one-trick pony. “Dying Concrete” explodes with vibrant energy and powerful choruses. “Moon Scavengers” showcases the band’s masterful use of riffs, effortlessly shifting between moods and rhythms. The EP concludes with “The Old Ones,” a breathtaking, multi-dimensional composition that leaves a lasting impression.

Since their formation eight years ago, Once Upon the End has consistently delved deeper into their dark, fantastical world. Their 2021 debut, The Next Chapter, set the stage, but Archive 200 marks their definitive claim on the melodic death metal scene. Mastered by the legendary Frédéric Gervais (known for his work with Pensées Nocturnes, Glorior Belli, and In The Woods), the EP delivers a crisp, rich sound that allows every detail of their artistry to shine through.
